Optimiser l'utilisation des herbicides canne à sucre à La Réunion

Abstract : In France, the panel of herbicides labeled for sugarcane weeding was dramatically reduced in 2003, but nowadays it includes ten products, and probably around twelve shortly. Optimizing the use of the herbicides can be a powerful means to reduce the treatment frequency index (IFT in French) in the Reunion Island. An in-depth knowledge of active substances properties is needed, as well as of the multiple possibilities of tank-mixing the products while reducing their rates of use for pre-emergence treatments, or of splitting the treatments for the post-emergence applications, particularly against perennial vines. The quantity of options to be tested is then dramatically increased, bringing nowadays a true challenge for the Reunion network of field trials set up in 2005 in order to provide a wider range of references on the panel of labeled herbicides, continuously in evolution.
